Here are a few suggestions about how to take care of your instrument and make it a long-life companion:

  • Avoid shocks and damage.
  • Avoid exposure to sunlight.
  • Avoid contact with water or liquids in order to prevent rusting.
  • Play your Battiloro Handpan exclusively with your hands, and wipe the surface with a clean, dry cloth after use.
  • In order to protect the surface, apply a lubricant oil once a month. We suggest Ballistol spray.

Visible especially on starry autumn nights, its name derives from an Arabic word meaning bust: like that of the vain Cassiopeia, the Greek myth represented sitting down with a mirror in hand, intent on sprucing up her hair. In tune with the natural melancholy of the D minor scale, Shedar gives body to an extraordinary harmonic spectrum, both mystical and contemplative: eleven notes arranged on top, two on the bottom. It spread to the Christian East with its Latin variant, thanks to the work of St Damian, the holy healer who worked without asking for anything in return.
